The chip industry has become the pinnacle of high-tech competition between China and the United States. More than 70% of the world's electronic terminal products are manufactured and assembled in Chinese Mainland, most of which are sold all over the world. On the one hand, in 2022, the scale of China's electronic information manufacturing industry has exceeded 20 trillion yuan. On the other hand, due to the inability of chip production in China to meet the domestic market, we have to import a large number of chips. According to data from the Bureau of Statistics, the total number of chip imports in China is 538.4 billion, and the import value has also reached 2.7663 trillion yuan, accounting for 15.30%, although it has decreased by 0.9% compared to 2021. According to public data, in 2013, chip imports in Chinese Mainland exceeded crude oil and became a major import commodity. In 2022, the import volume of integrated circuits still overwhelms the import volume of crude oil and continues to become a major import commodity. Usually, we use how many nanometers to characterize the progressiveness of chip performance. At present, advanced process chips of 7nm and below are imported from overseas in China, or manufactured by TSMC in Taiwan, China Province.
